As Special Agent Bickers noted, “It doesn’t matter if you use 128 bit WEP keys, you are vulnerable!”
WEP Hacking – The Next Generation
WEP is an encryption scheme, based on the RC-4 cipher, that is available on all 802.11a, b and g wireless products. WEP uses a set of bits called a key to scramble information in the data frames as it leaves the access point or client adapter and the scrambled message is then decrypted by the receiver.

Both sides must have the same WEP key, which is usually a total of 64 or 128 bits long. A semi-random 24 bit number called an Initialization Vector (IV), is part of the key, so a 64 bit WEP key actually contains only 40 bits of “strong”encryption while a 128 bit key has 104. The IV is placed in encrypted frame’s header, and is transmitted in plain text.

Traditionally, cracking WEP keys has been a slow and boring process. An attacker would have to capture hundreds of thousands or millions of packets? a process that could take hours or even days, depending on the volume of traffic passing over the wireless network. Anda yang biasa browsing di situs softpedia.com untuk mencari antivirus, tentu mengenal Blue Atom Antivirus. Tetapi, tahukah Anda siapa pencipta antivirus ukuran 2,5 MB yang mampu menjaring sekitar 4.000 virus dalam dan luar negeri itu?

Dia adalah Alvin Leonardo (14) siswa kelas IX E SMP Katolik Stella Maris, Surabaya. Hebatnya, karya arek Suroboyo ini secara resmi telah mendapat garansi 100 persen clean oleh softpedia pada 19 Oktober 2009.

Meski menjadi salah satu penghuni kelas unggulan di sekolah, Alvin adalah sosok siswa bersahaja. Tak terlihat istimewa. Rambut pendek dan badan sedikit kurus. Tapi, ia memang lebih menguasai pemrogaman komputer dibanding rekan-rekannya.

Alvin mulai rajin mengotak-atik program komputer sekitar tiga tahun lalu. Saat itu, dia baru saja duduk di bangku SMP dan untuk pertama kali memegang komputer. Awalnya, dia hanya suka main game. Tapi, rasa ingin tahunya berkembang ketika melihat program visual basic dalam hard disk komputer.

“Waktu itu saya penasaran, program itu untuk apa? Cara kerjanya bagaimana? Lalu saya otak-atik sampai akhirnya tahu,” ujarnya. Kemampuan Alvin mengotak-atik program komputer didapat secara otodidak. Ia tidak pernah mengikuti kursus komputer atau mendapat bimbingan khusus di bidang pemrograman.

Hanya dalam kurun waktu sekitar dua tahun, Putra pasangan Muliani Tedjakusuma dan Surya Mutiara itu sudah menguasai bahasa pemrogaman visual basic, c#, dan asmbler (ASMX 86). Kemampuan menguasai tiga jenis bahasa pemrogaman itulah yang mengantar Alvin membuat antivirus.

Karya itu lahir dari keluhan orang-orang di sekitar. “Banyak saudara dan teman jengkel karena komputer atau flash disk diganggu virus. Saya lihat sistem kerja antivitus itu gampang, jadi saya buat sendiri,” ungkap anak tunggal itu.

Alvin berhasil menyelesaikan proyek antivirusnya pada September 2009. Semula ia menamakan karyanya Fire Antivirus. Tapi, karena nama itu sudah pernah ada, ia lalu mengubah dan memberi nama karyanya Blue Atom Antivirus. “Biru itu melambangakan ketenangan dan atom merupakan bagian terkecil dari semua benda, itu melambangkan antivirus saya yang kapasitasnya cukup kecil,” papar Alvin.
Selanjutnya ia mendaftarakan karyanya ke softpedia secara online. “Saya sempat kesulitan mendaftar, karena harus mencari website yang bisa menjadi pengantar untuk masuk ke softpedia, karena saya tidak punya server sendiri. Tapi, akhirnya bisa menggunakan sourceforge,” terang Alvin.

Selang beberapa hari setelah mendaftar ke softpedia, Alvin mendapat jawaban melalui email yang menyatakan antivirus buatannya sudah lolos uji coba dan dijamin sehingga bisa diunduh secara langsung melalui softpedia.

Selain berkapasitas kecil dan bisa menyeleksi lebih banyak virus, Blue Atom Antivirus diklaim bisa bekerja dalam waktu singkat. Antivirus ini bisa digunakan untuk komputer dengan spesifikasi sederhana sekalipun.

Tidak puas dengan karya antivirus yang sudah mendapat sertifikasi softpedia. Alvin terus mengembangkan karyanya. Hasilnya, dalam waktu singkat ia sudah me-launching pengembangan antivirus Blue Atom karyanya dengan tambahan beberapa keunggulan. Versi baru Blue Atom Antivirus kini dilengkapi karantina, clean, fitur antivirus untuk game yang disebut game mode dan fitur protective flashdisk.
Pengembangan antivirus Blue Atom kembali didaftarkan Alvin ke Softpedia, Kamis (15/10). Ia berharap versi baru Blue Atom Antivirus bisa kembali mendapat lisensi dari Softpedia beberapa hari ke depan. “Kalau dapat lisensi lagi itu bisa menjadi hadiah ulang tahun,” harap bocah yang tinggal di Jl Muria Surabaya itu.

Pakar IT yang juga dekan FTIf ITS Prof Drs Ec Ir Riyanarto Sarno MSc PhD menyatakan, bahasa pemrograman komputer tidak mudah dikuasai siswa, apalagi SMP.

“Kalau memang dia (Alvin) bisa menguasai bahasa pemrograman, berarti dia termasuk anak yang serius belajar, hebat dia,” puji Ryan.
Terkait antivirus buatan Alvin, Ryan hanya mengingatkan bahwa sistem kerja antivirus adalah kemampuan untuk melihat sesuatu yang tidak wajar dalam kerja komputer.

Antivirus berfungsi untuk mendeteksi hal yang tak wajar itu untuk kemudian mengendalikannya. Karenanya, pembuat antivirus dituntut untuk terus mengupdate, supaya tetap bisa berfungsi baik jika sudah ditemukan virus-virus baru.
“Anak-anak seperti dia perlu diperhatikan. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan, dia bisa diikutkan lomba-lomba pemrograman,” tambah Ryan. Lebih lanjut, ia berharap potensi seperti Alvin bisa dibina untuk menjadi hacker ‘ilmu putih’ untuk menyosialisasikan fungsi penguasaan program komputer dan IT untuk membantu mencari solusi bagi segala keperluan.

Mengakali suatu software bajakan menjadi asli adalah suatu yang bisa dibilang suatu tindakan ilegal, saya disini akan menjelaskan tentang tutorial cara membuat software trial menjadi full version.

Cara ini sebenarnya saya tujukan hanya untuk pelajaran semata, dan bukan untuk mendorong adanya tindakan-tindakan illegal, khusunya dalam pembajakan software dalam dunia IT.

1. Untuk langkah awal, kita bisa mencari terlebih dahulu software/aplikasi yang sudah “full version” yang sama dengan software “trial” yang ingin kita buat crack nya.

2. Pilih “START” lalu “RUN”.

3. Lalu dilangkah ketiga ini kita ketik “REGEDIT” di tempat kosong pada “RUN” dan Enter/OK. seperti gambar di bawah ini

4. ketika “registry editor” muncul seperti gambar di bawah ini, silahkan kita cari terlebih dahulu “registry” aplikasi yang kita maksud.

5. Lalu pada langkah kelima ini kita lakukan klik kanan di tempat dimana “folder registry” aplikasi/software yang kita mau bikin untuk crack-an nya, kemudian pilih export, dan setelah itu simpan (terserah mau di simpen dimana, asal jangan sampe lupa ) untuk lebih jelasnya silahkan lihat gambar dibawah ini.

6. Lalu setlah kita simpen folder registry tadi yang sudah mengandung crack nya, kita buka registry editor di tempat dimana software atau aplikasi tersebut masih trial tersebut.

Tapi kalian penasaran gimana cara untuk membuat nya sendiri walaupun hanya untuk sekedar mencari kepuasan dalam membuat virus karena kalian mungkin sudah bosan terkena oleh virus yang di buat oleh orang lain dan virus buatan nya sendiri mengenai PC orang lain...,kan?

Sebelumnya kalian musti ketahui dulu apa penjelasan dari virus agar kalian bisa membedakan jenis dari virus yang ada saat ini :

Apa itu virus?
Virus atau worm adalah suatu program komputer yang dapat menyebar pada komputer atau jaringan dengan cara membuat copy dari dirinya sendiri tanpa sepengetahuan dari pengguna komputer tersebut. Virus dapat menimbulkan efek yang berbahaya, misalnya mulai dari menampilkan pesan, mencuri data atau bahkan mengontrol komputer Anda dari jarak jauh.

Bagaimana virus menginfeksi komputer?
Suatu virus pertama kali harus dijalankan sebelum ia mampu untuk menginfeksi suatu komputer. Ada berbagai macam cara agar virus ini dijalankan oleh korban, misalnya dengan menempelkan dirinya pada suatu program yang lain. Ada juga virus yang jalan ketika Anda membuka suatu tipe file tertentu. Kadangkala virus juga memanfaatkan celah keamanan yang ada pada komputer Anda (baik sistem operasi atau aplikasi), dengan memanfaatkan hal-hal tersebut virus dapat berjalan dan kemudian akan menyebarkan dirinya sendiri secara otomatis.

Trojan horse
Trojan horse adalah program yang kelihatan seperti program yang valid atau normal, tetapi sebenarnya program tersebut membawa suatu kode dengan fungsi-fungsi yang sangat berbahaya bagi komputer Anda.

Sebagai contoh, virus DLoader-L datang dari attachment e-mail dan dianggap sebagai sebagai suatu update program dari Microsoft untuk sistem operasi Windows XP. Jika Anda menjalankannya maka dia akan mendownload program dan akan memanfaatkan komputer Anda untuk menghubungkan komputer Anda ke suatu website tertentu. Targetnya tentu saja untuk membuat website tadi menjadi overload dan akhirnya tidak bisa diakses dengan benar oleh pihak lain. Ini sering dinamakan dengan serangan denial of service atau DoS.

Trojan tidak dapat menyebar secepat virus karena trojan tidak membuat copy dari dirinya sendiri secara otomatis. Tapi sejalan dengan perkembangan virus, maka trojan horse bisa bekerjasama dengan virus dalam hal penyebarannya. Virus dapat melakukan download terhadap trojan yang merekam keystroke keyboard Anda atau mencuri informasi yang ada pada komputer Anda. Di sisi lain, trojan juga digunakan untuk menginfeksi suatu komputer dengan virus.

Worms
Worm bisa dikatakan mirip dengan virus tetapi worm tidak memerlukan carrier dalam hal ini program atau suatu dokumen. Worm mampu membuat copy dari dirinya sendiri dan mengunakan jaringan komunikasi antar komputer untuk menyebarkan dirinya. Banyak virus seperti MyDoom atau Bagle bekerja sebagaimana layaknya worm dan menggunakan e-mail untuk mem-forward dirinya sendiri kepada pihak lain.

Apa yang bisa dilakukan oleh virus?
Virus seringkali mengganggu Anda atau menghentikan kerja komputer Anda pada saat diperlukan. Sejalan dengan perkembangan di dunia virus komputer maka sampai saat ini efek dari virus ini sudah semakin banyak, yaitu:

* Memperlambat e-mail
Virus dapat menyebar melalui e-mail, seperti virus Sobig, dan mampu untuk membuat trafik e-mail yang sangat besar yang tentu saja akan membuat server menjadi lambat atau bahkan menjadi crash. Bahkan jika hal tersebut tidak sampai terjadi, perusahaan yang merasa terganggu dengan insiden ini toh juga akan mematikan servernya.
* Mencuri data konfidental
Worm Bugbear-D contohnya, mampu merekam keystroke keyboard Anda, termasuk password dan lain sebagainya. Rekaman tadi biasanya akan dikirim ke si pembuat virus untuk dimanfaatkan lebih lanjut.
* Menggunakan komputer Anda untuk menyerang suatu situs
MyDoom contohnya, dia menginfeksi banyak komputer di seluruh dunia untuk menyerang situs SCO dengan traffic data yang sangat besar. Ini akan membuat situs tersebut akan terbebani luar biasa dan akhirnya akan crash dan tidak bisa melayani pengguna lainnya. Ini biasa dinamakan dengan denial of service.
* Membiarkan orang lain untuk membajak komputer Anda
Beberapa virus menempatkan trojan backdoor pada komputer dan ini akan membuat si pembuat virus dapat terhubung ke komputer tersebut secara diam-diam dan bisa dimanfaatkan lebih lanjut sesuai dengan keinginannya.
* Merusak data
Virus Compatable contohnya, dapat membuat perubahan pada data yang Anda simpan pada dokumen MS Excel.
* Menghapus data
Virus Sircam contohnya, berusaha untuk menghapus atau meng-overwrite hardisk Anda pada suatu waktu tertentu yang tidak terduga.
* Men-disable hardware
Virus CIH atau Chernobyl contohnya, berusaha untuk meng-overwrite chip BIOS pada tanggal 26 April dan akan membuat komputer Anda menjadi tidak berfungsi.
* Menimbulkan hal-hal yang aneh dan mengganggu
Virus worm Netsky-D contohnya, dapat membuat komputer berbunyi beep secara spontan atau tiba-tiba untuk beberapa jam lamanya.
* Menampilkan pesan tertentu
Virus Cone-F contohnya, akan menampilkan pesan berbau politik jika bulan menunjukkan bulan Mei.
* Merusak kredibilitas Anda
Jika virus mem-forward dirinya sendiri dari komputer Anda ke komputer pelanggan Anda atau komputer rekan bisnis Anda, maka hal ini akan merusak reputasi Anda sebagai suatu organisasi dan mereka akan tidak mau lagi melanjutkan hubungan bisnis dengan Anda atau malah menuntut kompensasi dari pihak Anda.
* Membuat malu Anda
Virus PolyPost contohnya, akan memposting dokumen dan nama Anda pada newsgroup yang berbau pornografi.

Fast Firus Engine

FFE adalah sebuah software virus generator yang dibuat oleh Mas Fajar Anggiawan. Software ini dibuat menggunakan bahasa Visual Basic. Gunanya software ini adalah untuk membuat virus baru tanpa harus menulisakan koding yang sangat banyak dan rumit. Tinggal masukan nama author, nama virus, dan pesan yang diinginkan lalu klik generate maka dengan cepat akan terciptalah sebuah virus baru. Virus yang tercipta oleh FFE mempunyai ukuran 55 kb. Virus yang tercipta tergolong tidak terlalu berbahaya karena virus tersebut tidak menghapus data para korbannya.

Berikut saya berikan cara pemakaian software FFE ini :

1. Jalankan software FFE tersebut

2. Lalu muncul form awal berupa splash screen

3. Lalu klik form tersebut, kemudian form utama akan terbuka.

4. Isi nama author, nama virus, dan pesan lalu klik generate maka sebuah virus barupun akan tercipta dengan mudahnya.

Selain itu virus ini juga akan menciptakan file Windows.exe dan baca euy.txt pada drive c:\. lsass.exe, smss.exe, svchost.exe, winlogon.exe, csrss.exe pada folder c:\Windows\System. Win32.exe, cokil.exe, ActiveX.exe, .exe pada folder c:\Windows. _default.pif serta copy.pif pada folder c:\Windows\System32. File cokil.exe bisa berbeda beda tergantung nama virus yang kita buat menggunakan FFE.

Ancaman dari luar angkasa nampaknya semakin nyata. Berita mengenai ledakan di tiga rumah di daerah Duren Sawit ternyata disebabkan oleh benda asing luar angkasa. Kepastian ini sudah didapatkan diklarifikasi oleh pihak Puslabfor. Jika sudah begitu, umat manusia mengalami sebuah ancaman yang di luar jangkauannya. Ternyata apa yang diceritakan di film-film mengenai invasi alien, ufo, benda luar angkasa tidak semuanya fiksi, ada yang benar-benar terjadi. Setidaknya dengan konfirmasi berita meledaknya 3 rumah di duren sawit jakarta ini.
Lalu apa benda luar angkasa itu? Belum jelas. Ga tau komet, meteor, masih dicari oleh puslabfor Polri di TKP. Untuk lebih jelas mengetahui penyebab meledaknya tiga rumah di duren sawit jakarta, ini ada quote dari vivanews

“Tapi kami pastikan ini bukan ledakan gas dan ini berasal dari luar rumah,” ujar Kepala Departemen Balistik Metalurgi Mabes Polri, Komisaris Besar Amri Kamil, Jumat 30 April 2010, usai melakukan olah TKP.

Menurut Kamil, kejadian yang agak aneh ini baru pertamakali terjadi, meski belum diketahui penyebabnya dan bisa saja ledakan akibat jatuhnya benda luar angkasa.

“Mungkin saja benda luar angkasa. Ini baru pertama terjadi,” ujarnya lagi.

banyak sekali pengguna internet yang mencari hal hal yang sedang hot misalnya saat itu ada berita tentang mahasiswa ITB yang meninggal akibat ospek, dan saya mencoba untuk posting di blog ini dan hasilnya cukup memuaskan, ada 400 UV baru yang datang ke blog saya dan semuanya dari search engine. jadi buatlah berita yang sedang HOT. untuk mencari berita yang sedanh hot anda harus sering sering berkunjung ke situs berita seperti detik atau situs forum seperti kaskus.

5. Submitt artikel anda ke lintas berita atau infogue

lintas berita atau infogue merupakan situs social bookmark yang terbaik di indonesia, dengan submitt artikel anda ke sana maka kemungkinan pengunjung untuk datang ke blog anda terbuka lebar.

6. selipkan keyword yang banyak di cari pada masing masing artikel

pada saat anda menulis artikel anda lebih baik selipkan keyword yang kira-kira di cari banyak orang, misalkan anda membuat artikel tentang daftar paypal. nah di dalam artikel tersebut anda bisa masukkan dan selipkan banyak keyword seperti “cara mendaftar paypal”, “cara withdraw paypal ke bank lokal”, “Kegunaan paypal”, dan lain lain. bagaimana cara mencari keyword untuk di selipkan tersebut? caranya adalah anda bisa berfikir jika anda mencari sesuatu tentang paypal maka apa yang akan anda tulis di seacrh engine? nah jika sudah ketemu beberapa keyword maka bisa anda buat sebagai sebuat paragraf. cara ini cukup manjur untuk menarik pengunjung dari search engine.

7. Buatlah pengunjung ketagihan untuk datang ke blog anda

cara membuat pengunjung ketagihan datang lagi ke blog anda adalah dengan cara memberikan seseuatu bagi mereka seperti ebook gratis, software gratis, tips dan trik maupun peluang bisnis online.atau membuat pengunjung penasaran terhadap posting kita, jadi kita buat posting yang bersambung jadi mereka penasaran dan kembali berkunjung ke blog kita. jika para pengunjung merasa nyaman maka mereka akan kembali ke blog anda dengan senang hati. selain itu pergunakanlah theme blog wordpress yang cerah dan tulisan terbaca dengan mudah agar pengunjung tidak kesulitan membaca tulisan kita.

dengan blogwalking kita bisa menambah banyak teman dan juga link yang menuju blog kita sehingga akan banyak pengunjung datang ke blog kita seiring dengan seringnya kita blogwalking ke blog lain dan meninggalkan comment di blog tersebut. apalagi kalau anda bisa bertukar link dengan blog lain tentunya akan lebih meningkatkan traffic ke blog anda.

9. Buatlah posting yang awet di cari banyak orang

Dengan menautkan dari satu posting ke posting lain akan banyak manfaatnya, diantaranya adalah:

FFE adalah sebuah software virus generator yang dibuat oleh Mas Fajar Anggiawan. Software ini dibuat menggunakan bahasa Visual Basic. Gunanya software ini adalah untuk membuat virus baru tanpa harus menulisakan koding yang sangat banyak dan rumit. Tinggal masukan nama author, nama virus, dan pesan yang diinginkan lalu klik generate maka dengan cepat akan terciptalah sebuah virus baru. Virus yang tercipta oleh FFE mempunyai ukuran 55 kb. Virus yang tercipta tergolong tidak terlalu berbahaya karena virus tersebut tidak menghapus data para korbannya.

Berikut saya berikan cara pemakaian software FFE ini :

1. Jalankan software FFE tersebut

2. Lalu muncul form awal berupa splash screen

3. Lalu klik form tersebut, kemudian form utama akan terbuka.

4. Isi nama author, nama virus, dan pesan lalu klik generate maka sebuah virus barupun akan tercipta dengan mudahnya.

Virus tersebut apabila dieksekusi maka akan menyebabkan komputer terasa lebih lambat, karena resource komputer kita dipakai oleh virus tersebut. Cirri-ciri virus terbut adalah

Tidak bisa membuka Task Manaer

Virus tersebut juga akan memberika atribut System dan hidden (+s +h alias super hidden.. hehew.. pake bahasanya mas Family Code) pada folder Windows. Selain itu virus ini juga akan menciptakan file Windows.exe dan baca euy.txt pada drive c:\. lsass.exe, smss.exe, svchost.exe, winlogon.exe, csrss.exe pada folder c:\Windows\System. Win32.exe, cokil.exe, ActiveX.exe, .exe pada folder c:\Windows. _default.pif serta copy.pif pada folder c:\Windows\System32. File cokil.exe bisa berbeda beda tergantung nama virus yang kita buat menggunakan FFE.

Mungkin kalian sudah sangat mengenal apa yang dinamakan Virus Worm,seperti contohnya Virus brontok yang sangat terkenal itu.

Tapi kalian penasaran gimana cara untuk membuat nya sendiri walaupun hanya untuk sekedar mencari kepuasan dalam membuat virus karena kalian mungkin sudah bosan terkena oleh virus yang di buat oleh orang lain dan virus buatan nya sendiri mengenai PC orang lain...,kan?

Sebelumnya kalian musti ketahui dulu apa penjelasan dari virus agar kalian bisa membedakan jenis dari virus yang ada saat ini :

Apa itu virus?
Virus atau worm adalah suatu program komputer yang dapat menyebar pada komputer atau jaringan dengan cara membuat copy dari dirinya sendiri tanpa sepengetahuan dari pengguna komputer tersebut. Virus dapat menimbulkan efek yang berbahaya, misalnya mulai dari menampilkan pesan, mencuri data atau bahkan mengontrol komputer Anda dari jarak jauh.

Bagaimana virus menginfeksi komputer?
Suatu virus pertama kali harus dijalankan sebelum ia mampu untuk menginfeksi suatu komputer. Ada berbagai macam cara agar virus ini dijalankan oleh korban, misalnya dengan menempelkan dirinya pada suatu program yang lain. Ada juga virus yang jalan ketika Anda membuka suatu tipe file tertentu. Kadangkala virus juga memanfaatkan celah keamanan yang ada pada komputer Anda (baik sistem operasi atau aplikasi), dengan memanfaatkan hal-hal tersebut virus dapat berjalan dan kemudian akan menyebarkan dirinya sendiri secara otomatis.

Anda juga dapat menerima suatu file yang sudah terinfeksi virus dalam attachment e-mail Anda. Begitu file tersebut Anda jalankan, maka kode virus akan berjalan dan mulai menginfeksi komputer Anda dan bisa menyebar pula ke semua file yang ada di jaringan komputer Anda.

Trojan horse
Trojan horse adalah program yang kelihatan seperti program yang valid atau normal, tetapi sebenarnya program tersebut membawa suatu kode dengan fungsi-fungsi yang sangat berbahaya bagi komputer Anda.

Sebagai contoh, virus DLoader-L datang dari attachment e-mail dan dianggap sebagai sebagai suatu update program dari Microsoft untuk sistem operasi Windows XP. Jika Anda menjalankannya maka dia akan mendownload program dan akan memanfaatkan komputer Anda untuk menghubungkan komputer Anda ke suatu website tertentu. Targetnya tentu saja untuk membuat website tadi menjadi overload dan akhirnya tidak bisa diakses dengan benar oleh pihak lain. Ini sering dinamakan dengan serangan denial of service atau DoS.

Trojan tidak dapat menyebar secepat virus karena trojan tidak membuat copy dari dirinya sendiri secara otomatis. Tapi sejalan dengan perkembangan virus, maka trojan horse bisa bekerjasama dengan virus dalam hal penyebarannya. Virus dapat melakukan download terhadap trojan yang merekam keystroke keyboard Anda atau mencuri informasi yang ada pada komputer Anda. Di sisi lain, trojan juga digunakan untuk menginfeksi suatu komputer dengan virus.

Worms
Worm bisa dikatakan mirip dengan virus tetapi worm tidak memerlukan carrier dalam hal ini program atau suatu dokumen. Worm mampu membuat copy dari dirinya sendiri dan mengunakan jaringan komunikasi antar komputer untuk menyebarkan dirinya. Banyak virus seperti MyDoom atau Bagle bekerja sebagaimana layaknya worm dan menggunakan e-mail untuk mem-forward dirinya sendiri kepada pihak lain.

Apa yang bisa dilakukan oleh virus?
Virus seringkali mengganggu Anda atau menghentikan kerja komputer Anda pada saat diperlukan. Sejalan dengan perkembangan di dunia virus komputer maka sampai saat ini efek dari virus ini sudah semakin banyak, yaitu:
Memperlambat e-mail
Virus dapat menyebar melalui e-mail, seperti virus Sobig, dan mampu untuk membuat trafik e-mail yang sangat besar yang tentu saja akan membuat server menjadi lambat atau bahkan menjadi crash. Bahkan jika hal tersebut tidak sampai terjadi, perusahaan yang merasa terganggu dengan insiden ini toh juga akan mematikan servernya.
Mencuri data konfidental
Worm Bugbear-D contohnya, mampu merekam keystroke keyboard Anda, termasuk password dan lain sebagainya. Rekaman tadi biasanya akan dikirim ke si pembuat virus untuk dimanfaatkan lebih lanjut.
Menggunakan komputer Anda untuk menyerang suatu situs
MyDoom contohnya, dia menginfeksi banyak komputer di seluruh dunia untuk menyerang situs SCO dengan traffic data yang sangat besar. Ini akan membuat situs tersebut akan terbebani luar biasa dan akhirnya akan crash dan tidak bisa melayani pengguna lainnya. Ini biasa dinamakan dengan denial of service.
Membiarkan orang lain untuk membajak komputer Anda
Beberapa virus menempatkan trojan backdoor pada komputer dan ini akan membuat si pembuat virus dapat terhubung ke komputer tersebut secara diam-diam dan bisa dimanfaatkan lebih lanjut sesuai dengan keinginannya.
Merusak data
Virus Compatable contohnya, dapat membuat perubahan pada data yang Anda simpan pada dokumen MS Excel.
Menghapus data
Virus Sircam contohnya, berusaha untuk menghapus atau meng-overwrite hardisk Anda pada suatu waktu tertentu yang tidak terduga.
Men-disable hardware
Virus CIH atau Chernobyl contohnya, berusaha untuk meng-overwrite chip BIOS pada tanggal 26 April dan akan membuat komputer Anda menjadi tidak berfungsi.
Menimbulkan hal-hal yang aneh dan mengganggu
Virus worm Netsky-D contohnya, dapat membuat komputer berbunyi beep secara spontan atau tiba-tiba untuk beberapa jam lamanya.
Menampilkan pesan tertentu
Virus Cone-F contohnya, akan menampilkan pesan berbau politik jika bulan menunjukkan bulan Mei.
Merusak kredibilitas Anda
Jika virus mem-forward dirinya sendiri dari komputer Anda ke komputer pelanggan Anda atau komputer rekan bisnis Anda, maka hal ini akan merusak reputasi Anda sebagai suatu organisasi dan mereka akan tidak mau lagi melanjutkan hubungan bisnis dengan Anda atau malah menuntut kompensasi dari pihak Anda.
Membuat malu Anda
Virus PolyPost contohnya, akan memposting dokumen dan nama Anda pada newsgroup yang berbau pornografi.
